Romell Green is a graduate of Alabama State University. He began his employment as a foster care case specialist is Wayne County, eventually moving to Oakland County. He served as a first line manager, section manager, and State Administrative Manager for BSC 5. He has served as a State Administrative
Manager for the Race Equity Diversity and Inclusion (REDI) office, Romell provided strategic planning for the office of REDI and co-led the development for trainings that were created to enhance awareness, performance, and accountability. He previously led the Equity Development Division (EDD) within the
REDI department.
He has done public speaking and scoping sessions rooted in Race Equity Diversity and Inclusion for several departments within the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). He has served as the plenary for the Kinship Awareness conference and mediated the statewide Licensing Rules and Regulations round table discussions.
He also participates and contributes to various internal and work groups which focus on employee engagement, child welfare case facilitation and staff retention. He sits on recruitment and retention committees for the MDHHS and champions the hiring practices designed to employ people of color with the MDHHS. Currently he is one of the co-leads of the MDHHS DEI Councils Recruitment; Retention team and is an active member of the Leadership action team. He also has been certified in Sigma Succession Planning, Advanced Microsoft Excel, 5D Consulting Skills, Franklin Covey, Certified Diversity Executive (IDC), Diversity Equity & Inclusion Blueprint and recently Gallup Clifton Strengths certification. He specializes in leadership training, one on one and group Gallup workshop facilitation, motivational speaking, and roundtable facilitation.
Romell has a strong connection to the community specifically Wayne County where he is currently leading collaborations with community-based programs.
